Two days ago, I walked past a florist and noticed some things which seemed out of place. In truth, you could stride past them if you are clueless.

However, I turned and walked back. Looked again and saw them lying nondescriptly in two big cartons. In comparison to the roses, tulips and all the big names, they merely laid in there, flaccid.

“Waoh, the daffodils are out!. Let me have two bunches please” a smile of reminiscence curved around my lips. Yes, there is a history there.

However, let’s stick with the daffodils first.

A Little Background:

  • Botanically known as the #narcissus, daffodils announce the arrival of Spring. You wondering why such a beauty is tagged a narcissist? well, have you ever seen an ugly narcissist? It was named after the Greek Adonis who fell in love with his own reflection. Merely because of the way the petals curl downwards.
  • The #UK is the world’s biggest grower. And it is the national flower for Wales
  • It has 25 species & 13k hybrids.
