“Babe, your magic potion is ready” cooed the heady aroma as it wafted sensuously round my room

I followed its trail. And allowed myself indulge in the fragrance. Then climbing out of bed, I shuffled back to the kitchen.

“Seemed like three minutes ago when I tossed everything into that pot” I muttered

Minutes later, I was back in bed cradling a mug. I sat staring at my laptop and phone beside me. Next, I lifted both and placed them gingerly on the table. The article can wait. This kinaesthetic needs to recalibrate.

“What is the rush anyway? Been working on it since early December and this is February”

Intoxicated.

Afterwards, I tipped my face inside the mug, careful to avoid contact with the hot liquid. Right away, the scent picked me up and hurled me straight to the ceiling. Swung me around before gradually dropping me back on the bed.

I doubt if any other drug could feel as good as this herbal blend. Cardamom & rose spiced with cinnamon, ginger, cloves + honey.

Already, I was feeling better. In my head and body. My nose was beginning to drip while I felt the phlegm push its way down my airways.

And my tongue hadn’t even felt it yet. Yet between the aroma and warmth from the cup, I was waking up.

After Cancer left me lethargic, and the meds messing with me; I had sought comfort in Mother Nature. Her remedies are kinder than prescription drugs. And this combination is one of my numerous go-to.

Do you take herbal teas?

Packaged bags or you make yours from scratch?

If you are curious enough to try, let me know. Thereafter, I would write on the how and why.

  1. I am trying to get into the herbal tea territory. Presently I have store bought peppermint and mint tea, taste divine with a dash of honey.
Planning to brew lemon grass from my garden and store for the week.
I am curious about other possible combos

    1. Hey Emem,

Awww, natural lemongrass is one thing I miss mightily. That tea is a cure-all and the aroma is orgasmic.

There are lots of possible combos in this ‘Natural’ tea space. Thing is it is a lifelong experimental phase. There is also a lot of understudying involved as you have to know which herb/spice/root combines with which or works for what.

It also depends on availability or access to those herbs. Of course, the plan is to eventually outgrow whatever your garden produces. So you have to factor in access to supply/raw materials.

I am dropping these links here and hope you will find them beneficial. https://naturalremedyideas.com/herbal-teas-list/, https://www.fromleaftotea.com/safe-herbal-tea-combinations-to-mix-know-how/
